WHAT TO KNOW

A flood watch is in effect for New Jersey through midday today.

South Central Bergen County, Essex County and Hudson County are under a Flash Flood Warning until 9:30 a.m., while a separate Flash Flood Warning remains in effect for Morris County until 10 a.m.

In addition, there is a Flash Flood Warning for Mercer and Middlesex counties until 12 p.m.

Areas of locally heavy rain are occurring this morning. The heaviest rainfall looks to be concentrated on the Northeastern part of the state. Up to 3" of rain is possible, with locally higher amounts north and east. Never drive through flooded roadways. You don't know how deep that water is. Turn around, don't drown.

Rapidly improving conditions are expected from midday through the afternoon today. The sun will return and it will be warm and humid. Mostly sunny, pleasant temperatures and much lower humidity are expected for Monday.
