Members of a Bronx family say they finally have closure now that a suspect has been charged in the death of their teenage daughter.
Destiny Sanchez was found dead at a Hunts Point building in November 2012 after spending time with her step-uncle, Luis Vega.
Vega had originally been charged with endangering the welfare of a child after police say he gave the teen alcohol. The family says that new charges against him now include one count of second-degree murder and two counts of criminal sexual acts.
According to the indictment, Vega forcibly engaged in sexual activity with the 15-year-old and then smothered her to death.
Vega is due back in court on May 27.
