Fire and EMS crews responded to Frontage Road near The Grand Apartment complex in Cherry Hill after a downed power line sparked multiple vehicle fires and left nearby residents without power.
According to officials, the incident began when a tree limb fell onto overhead power lines, knocking them down onto several parked cars. The live wires caused one vehicle to ignite, with the flames quickly spreading to multiple neighboring vehicles in the lot.
The damaged lines also cut power to The Grand Apartment buildings. Officials stated the complex was left without electricity while utility crews worked to complete repairs and restore service to the area.
All vehicles involved were unoccupied at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.
