Memorials will be held this weekend to mark the one-year anniversary of the slaying of Lakewood police officer Christopher Matlosz.
A memorial service and candlelight vigil will be held in Lakewood tomorrow to remember Matlosz, who was killed in the line of duty.
Friends Melanie and Milan Miladinov have chosen to honor Matlosz by naming their newborn son after him. Melanie says she and her husband considered Matlosz to be one of their best friends. Matlosz's fiancee Kelly Walsifer, who was supposed to marry Matlosz in April, says he would have been happy with the tribute and says she appreciates it too.
"I know I have the support of friends, of true friends, who have stuck by me and will always stick by me," said Walsifer.
