Police say to contact the customer service number on your phone bill if you are called by a scammer.

Police: Man harassed teen worker, pulled knife at Wayne Outback Steakhouse
22h agoPhone scammers are coming up with new tactics, according to Fair Lawn police.
They say scammers are calling their victims under fake names such as “Verizon” and “PSE&G” on caller ID and requesting money through Venmo or Zelle.
Police are warning that major companies will never request payment of one of those apps.
