A former Newark police officer has filed a federal lawsuit claiming that Mayor Ras Baraka and her former colleagues sexually harassed her.

The suit was filed on Friday. It accused the mayor of asking the former officer for photos of her in the shower, requesting kisses and offering to take her to spas.

The former officer also accused several male police colleagues of inappropriate behavior, including requesting nude photos.

In a statement to News 12, a spokesperson for the city wrote, "The city completely denies the allegations in the complaint against the mayor, which we are hearing about for the first time. Given that this is the first notice on all allegations against the Mayor and members of the Newark Police Division, the city will be conducting a full-fledged investigation into this matter."
