A mother and son found dead inside a Jersey City home were victims of a homicide, and investigators now say they are now seeking the woman's ex-boyfriend.
Monika Potoczniak, 27, and her son, 4-year-old Christopher Potoczniak, were found dead inside their second-floor apartment on Lincoln Street last Wednesday evening.
An autopsy revealed the mother died of strangulation and the young boy died of suffocation.
Police are now looking for the mother's estranged boyfriend and father to the boy, 26-year-old Jose Ronald Santos-Alvarez. An arrest warrant has been issued for him, charging him with two counts of murder.
A spokesperson for the prosecutor's office says that Santos-Alvarez should be considered dangerous.
Anyone who may have any information regarding his whereabouts is urged to contact the Hudson County prosecutor at 201-915-1345 or email hcpotips@hcpo.org.
