Several events were held Wednesday to honor public safety officials who died during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Attorney General Matt Platkin joined more than 30 honor guards at the Epic Church in Sayreville to pay tribute to the fallen officials.
"This wasn't a normal law enforcement response; this wasn’t a normal crisis. There was no firearm, no stolen car, nothing that you can see. This was a silent killer,” Platkin said.
A 3-mile-long procession was also held at the PNC Arts Center in Holmdel.
