The emergency and 911 calls that came in moments after Gov. Jon Corzine?s near-fatal crash were released to the public Friday.
?Just an FYI?the accident on the parkway?rumor has it, it could be Corzine involved,? said Sergeant Moran when he called dispatch on April 12.
Minutes after the crash, calls started coming in about how bad the crash was and who was involved.
?Advise EMS when they arrive, they have to grab the trooper, he?s hurt bad.?
The chopper was in the air within moments after troopers learned it was Corzine involved.
?We need South Star. We are traffic stopped. Need to expedite. It can land on the parkway.?
The governor was taken by chopper to Cooper University Hospital with a broken left leg, 11 broken ribs, a broken collarbone and sternum and other injuries. Corzine was in the passenger seat and not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Corzine?s SUV was traveling at 91 mph on its way to a meeting at the governor?s mansion in Princeton. The meeting was with ex-radio host Don Imus and the Rutgers women?s basketball team.
Corzine was released from the hospital April 30 and is currently rehabilitating at the governor?s mansion.
