A man from Elizabeth was arrested in connection to an armed robbery in Linden in 2020.
Police say Andrew Medeiros, 29, went into a 7-Eleven on E. Edgar Road at 2 a.m., pointed a gun at the cashier and demanded money from the register. Medeiros got away with $500 and fled the scene on foot, officials say.
Medeiros was arrested and sent to Essex County Jail pending a scheduled appearance in Superior Court. He’s now facing several charges, including robbery, weapons and assault.
“As this case demonstrates, the violent criminals who commit these crimes are never safe, and we will use every resource available to bring them to justice, regardless of how long it takes,” said Police Chief David Hart.
