A fire broke out at an apartment complex in Piscataway this weekend, burning through the roof and doors of a 12-unit car garage on Royal Drive.

Firefighters say it took them two hours Saturday night to extinguish the flames.

While it's unclear what started the fire, crews say the county hazmat unit helped remove batteries from scooters and bikes that caught on fire.

There is no word on any injuries.
