Some New Jersey heroes will not be home for the holidays this Christmas, such as New Jersey's 177th fighter squadron out of Egg Harbor.

The squadron is currently deployed to the Middle East, and there's been a major effort here at home to make sure they know they're missed.

Karen Jennings heads the Military Support Group of New Jersey. She's been busier than Santa's helpers this month, putting together care packages, wrapping presents and making sure local school kids send cards, all to be sent to the Middle East.

There's been no word from the Department of Defense on how long the 177th squadron is going to be deployed.
