A New Jersey man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for a drunk driving crash that killed a college student.
David Lamar pleaded guilty to the December 2018 crash. Lamar admitted to getting behind the wheel after drinking more than twice the legal limit.
The head-on crash near the College of New Jersey campus killed 20-year-old Michael Sot and left five others badly injured.
Sot was the designated driver that night for his fraternity.
Sot’s mother said that she was satisfied with the sentencing. She says that the pain doesn’t go away and that one just learns to live with the loss.
