A New Brunswick man is lucky to be alive after his car was hit by an Amtrak train Thursday.
A 2006 Mitsuibishi Eclipse driven by 23 year-old Joel Mangroo was hit on the tracks in North Brunswick. The Amtrak train was headed from Washington to Boston when it hit the vehicle at around 10 a.m.
An Amtrak spokesperson says there were no reports of injuries to the 278 passengers or crew members on the train.
Trains were running up to 30 minutes behind in each direction during the investigation, but are now back on a regular schedule.
