Point Pleasant Beach homeowners dealing with flooding say that they are frustrated by delays to a dredging project.
The project began a few months ago, but has been delayed by continuing bad weather.
Crews have been taking mud from Little Silver Lake and putting it in a nearby parking lot to dry it out. The goal is to deepen the lake and reduce flooding in the area. The completion date is now pushed back to around May 23.
Mayor Stephen Reid says he understands the growing frustrations of people living in the flood zones.
“I know that they are getting a little sick of it now. So are we,” Reid says. “It’s going to all be taken care of soon and be all nice and cleaned up.”
Reid says that he is confident that the project will be completed before Memorial Day.
