Dr. Michael Osterholm from the University of Minnesota says the flu is sparking serious brain complications in children and that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is not releasing critical information about the situation.

"You will see the children present within 48 to 72 hours of contracting the flu with fever, and this is rapidly progressive," says Dr. Uzma Hasan, of RWJ Barnabas Health.

Uzma also says this is rare, but one child in New Jersey has been transported to a tertiary care facility at RWJ Barnabas.
