Two Denville residents are still a bit shaken after Monday evening's 3.0 earthquake, which was practically located in their backyards.
"I thought it was an explosion," says Dave Whitehead. Whitehead's home is located directly next to the quake's epicenter. "I came running outside ? I thought maybe a large tree had fallen on my house, or I thought one of the buildings down on Route 10 had exploded."
Linda Stark, who lives a few doors down from Whitehead, says the force of the quake caused her pictures frames to crash from the mantle and break.
Though both residents can remember a similar earthquake from the 1980s, they call Monday a rude awakening. Stark says she is committed to educating herself about the ground near her home.
