Demolition has begun at what was once a church in Belmar to make room for three homes.
The First United Church on 7th Avenue and D Street closed several years ago after the size of the congregation dropped.
Most recently, the church has been used as a town community center.
The church received over $1 million from the sale of the property. Proceeds were donated to needy families in New Jersey.
