Fire officials say a Bronx woman died in a Sunday afternoon fire that engulfed her Decatur Avenue apartment.
Firefighters were called to 3238 Decatur Ave. at around 2 p.m. to extinguish flames on the third floor of the building. According to firefighters, the blaze was under control about 20 minutes later, though one woman who lived in an apartment on that floor did not escape the flames.
The woman was transported to Montefiore Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
