Snow preparation debates continue across New Jersey following the lack of preparations when a snowstorm hit back in November.

When is too much preparation a problem? – This has been the question Gov. Phil Murphy has been answering as of late.

Back in November, what was supposed to be just a couple of inches turned into so much more, leaving motorists stranded and forcing some school students to spend the night in their classrooms.

Jeff Tittel, director of the New Jersey Sierra Club, says the governor is using too much brine, causing both health and environmental impacts

"Brine gets into our major drinking water sources,” says Tittel. “Chloride from brine increases lead leaching out of older pipes in our homes and out of our faucets."

Gov. Murphy answered the critics.

“I have no time for over prepared critics,” says Gov. Murphy. “Those days are over. It’s not just a reaction to November, we are one of densest states in nation. We have to move people around, whether car, bus, train, the premium on getting this right is more important is as high as any state in the country."
