A group of cyclists headed out early Wednesday to raise money for an Ocean youth safe haven.
Ocean?s Harbor House is a homeless youth shelter that provides emergency housing and counseling services for runaways.
?We operate outreach services, so we talk to young people in their communities,? Linda Gyimoty, of Ocean?s Harbor House, said. ?We have a transitional living program for older youths who are homeless that need a hand transitioning from being children to being adults.?
Gyimoty said the yearly rides help keep the shelter afloat.
?It?s the 11th year of our ride. Last year, our ride raised over $100,000 for young people in our community,? Gyimoty said.
The ride began at St. Mary Church in Barnegat and will end on the shore in Virginia.
