A 28-year-old Bridgeton woman was sentenced to life in prison without parole for killing her toddler.
Authorities say Nakira Griner reported that her almost 2-year-old son was abducted on Feb. 8, 2019, while she was walking to the store. Authorities say the child’s desecrated remains were located on Griner’s property later that evening, and an autopsy concluded the child died from blunt force trauma.
Griner was previously found guilty on Jan. 4 of several charges, including first degree murder, desecration of human remains, and endangering the welfare of a child. The verdict came after a two-week jury trial.
