Connecticut has a new alert system for missing people with intellectual disabilities such as dementia and Alzheimer's disease.
The new Purple Alert includes details to help police communicate with people who have short-term memory issues.
"We can put down on that registry where people used to live, where people used to work, perhaps their native language," said Kristen Cusato, director of communications for the Alzheimer's Association. "Really important things that will make it easier to have those families reunite quickly."
