The New Jersey State Forest Fire Service says that crews are out battling a wildfire in Washington Township, Burlington County.
The fire is impacting 257 acres of land and is about 30% contained, as of 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Officials say that crews are using “backfire” to help contain the fire and to stop its progress.
They say that 30 structures are in danger, but that there are no mandatory evacuations. Local fire departments are protecting these structures.
Route 542 is closed between Wading River Bridge and Lovers Lane. Old Burch Road and River Road are also closed.
Residents are urged to avoid the areas while crews work.
