Passaic County Community College will offer free tuition to some county residents starting in the spring.
The free tuition is part of the Community College Opportunity Grant Program.
The school is one of 13 two-year colleges in New Jersey chosen to participate.
"There may be adults that haven't been to school in some time, but they may need critical skills,” says Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh. “Now they'll be afforded an opportunity at no cost to attend community college. Whether you're going to earn credits or you're going to enroll in a continuing education opportunity, we're letting you know that the purpose of community colleges is to make it accessible and affordable."
Residents must have a household income of $45,000 or less to be eligible.
