A Sussex County man is facing drug charges after police intercepted a package containing 4 pounds of marijuana.
Sparta police arrested Dean Gobel Tuesday after learning a package containing the pot was expected to be delivered to a home on Sterling Hill Road. After the package was delivered, police say Gobel showed up and took the package.
He was arrested a short time later by Sparta police. Police executed a search warrant at Gobel's home and also found $4,580 in cash, as well as ballistic body armor. He was charged with intent to distribute marijuana.
The Sussex County Prosecutor's Office and Sussex County Sheriff's Department assisted in the investigation.
At the time of his arrest, Gobel had been free on bail for a 2014 indictment for selling drugs.
