A 77-year-old building super in Concourse Village was the 16th victim in a violent robbery pattern that has targeted at least 17 people across the Bronx and Manhattan, according to the NYPD.

Police say the suspect - who rides a moped or bike during the robberies - has been approaching victims, displaying a firearm and demanding property since mid-September.

Jorge Medina, who has worked as a super on the Grand Concourse for about 20 years, says the gunman confronted him on Halloween morning after he withdrew $500 in rent money from a Chase ATM.

Medina told News 12 he was walking home near East 162nd Street when the suspect rolled up behind him on a bike, cut him off on the sidewalk and pointed a gun at his head. He handed over the $500 and tried to follow the suspect in a taxi but lost him.

Medina says the robbery has left him shaken and more cautious walking through his own neighborhood.

Police say Medina’s case matches a larger pattern of robberies in which victims were approached on sidewalks or while riding bikes or scooters. In some incidents, a second man was also involved. Several victims had jewelry or cash taken; in one case, a gunshot was fired during a struggle.

The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspect and says he is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be submitted at crimestoppers.nypdonline.org or on X at @NYPDTips.
