New video shows the moment a manhole exploded last Friday on Chatsworth Avenue in Larchmont, injuring two police officers.
Officers had initially responded to reports of smoke coming from multiple manholes in the area when one of them exploded, according to officials at the scene.
Both officers were hurt in the incident. News 12 was told one officer returned to work earlier this week, while the other is expected back on Friday.
People who live and work nearby said they heard and felt the explosion, with some reporting a brief loss of power.
"The whole building shook, like literally shook," said Prem, who works in the area.
An official with Con Edison provided an update Thursday, saying crews are repairing and replacing damaged underground cables and transition points to overhead lines.
"We will complete testing in the area tonight," the official said.
There is still no word on what caused the explosion.
Emergency crews initially told News 12 that Con Edison was investigating possible underground electrical issues.
