News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Michele Powers says New Jersey will see sunny skies for Sunday before some scattered showers in the evening. WHAT'S NEW: Rain is on the way for Sunday evening into at least the first half of Monday. The really dry weather we've been having lately begins to change by mid-day Sunday. At times the rain could be heavy with a few isolated thunderstorms late Sunday into early Monday. Roads could be wet for commute time Monday and for some areas, showers may linger through the day. Temperatures will be lower with highs only in the lower-70s. WHAT'S NEXT: The nice dry sunny weather returns later next week after Tuesday. Look for more comfortable September weather as the fall season kicks off next weekend. Generally high temperatures in the mid-70s with overnight lows in the 50s and 60s. It's time for that light fall jacket.
OVERNIGHT: Calm, quiet night under mostly clear night sky. Lows near 57-62.
SUNDAY: Sunny start followed by clouds in the afternoon. Rain showers arrive by 5 p.m. Cooler highs near 78. Refreshing lows near 56-61.
MONDAY: Overnight/pre-dawn showers exiting around 5 a.m. Another push of early morning showers by 7 a.m. Showers again in the afternoon. Highs near 73. Lows near 58.
