That wasn't so bad, was it? Ok, it was cold. In fact, it was a record breaking cold in the northwest corner of the state, so that's saying something.
The previous record low temps were 10 degrees set in 2005. This morning Sussex airport woke up with 5 degrees! That is a disrespectful backhand from Mother Nature.
A few flurries are possible heading into tonight. While the air has certainly modified since this morning, any available moisture in the atmosphere is going to be squeezed out.
Nothing to worry about. It's just a few festive flakes as I like to call them. Temperatures tonight and through the weekend remain cold. Not as cold as Friday was, but cold for this time of year by a few degrees.
Clouds cling to the area for most of the weekend. Saturday is quiet. The winds light. The temps are in the low 40’s.
Sunday there may be a hint more sun in the forecast, but the winds will be picking up again. This will be the leading edge of another pop of arctic air. Sunday night into Monday morning a few snow showers are possible.
I would be surprised, pleasantly surprised, if we saw a coating by Monday morning. Again, the story will be about the Arctic chill smothering the region.
Monday and Tuesday morning lows will drop to the teens and daily highs struggle to get to the mid 30’s.
