Coast Guard officers rescued a man who was experiencing a medical episode in a fishing boat Saturday near the north tip of Sandy Hook in Monmouth County.

Officials say they received a distress call at around 12:30 p.m. and responded to the scene.

The man was taken to a hospital for evaluation, according to authorities.
