The search for a missing kayaker off the Jersey Shore has extended as far as 25 miles out to sea Friday.
The Coast Guard is using a boat, helicopter and airplane to scan an area from Sandy Hook to Barnegat Light for 52-year-old Frank D?Alessandro. The Florida man?s orange kayak was found overturned off Point Pleasant Beach Wednesday.
There are media reports from Florida that D?Alessandro is allegedly facing legal problems. The reports say D?Alessandro is possibly the target of an investigation.
D?Alessandro was visiting his mother at the Jersey Shore before he went missing.
