A new health center has opened that has Hudson County’s Latino population in mind.
The Sanitas Medical Center opened this week in Union City. The center features a wide range of medical services from preventive to urgent care. The center is partnered with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Officials say that the clinic was opened with New Jersey’s Spanish-speaking residents in mind.
“I think [the vast majority] of the staff members are bilingual,” says Horizon’s Thomas Graf. “But more importantly…they also understand the community and know their needs and their culture.”
Two more health centers are expected to open in Belleville and Jersey City next year.
