Cleanup work is set to begin today at the site of the Marcal Paper company.
Officials in Elmwood Park say the cleanup could last three months.
The fire broke out in February, destroying everything inside the building, including the iconic Marcal sign on the top of the building.
The president and CEO of Soundview Paper Company, the company that owns the paper mill, says the fire destroyed multiple buildings at the site and damaged over 16-acres of the property.
He says 450,000-square feet of manufacturing space was destroyed, and the company lost 21 paper converting lines that were vital to its operation.
Officials were not able to determine a cause for the fire because there was too much damage.
They say it is not suspicious.
