Gov. Chris Christie signed legislation aimed to make lines shorter and move more quickly at the Motor Vehicle Commission offices.
The new law changes the expiration date for a vehicle’s registration to be based on the owner’s birthday. This will make it so that all the registrations don’t expire at the end of the month.
Lawmakers say that they hope this will cut back on congestion.
Officials have held hearings in Trenton aimed at looking into ways to cut down on MVC wait times.
