(AP) - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says he is in no rush to make up his mind about whether to run for the White House, despite Texas Senator Ted Cruz's entry into the race.
Christie said during his monthly radio show Monday evening that Cruz's announcement has no bearing on his timing.
He says he's still talking things through with his family and will make a decision in late spring to early summer.
Cruz became the first major 2016 contender to declare himself a candidate earlier Monday.
Still, Christie says he won't run unless he thinks he can beat Hillary Rodham Clinton, who is widely expected to seek the Democratic nomination.
