Children of slain police officer attend junior police academy
The three children of a Jersey City police officer killed in the line of duty nine years ago are set to graduate from a summer junior police academy program.
Gwendolyn, Marc and Ella DiNardo are honoring their father, Detective Marc DiNardo, by participating in the Jefferson Township Junior Police Academy.
Graduation ceremonies will be held Friday. The Jersey City Police Department will send a contingent of officers to the ceremony to support the children.
Detective DiNardo was shot and killed in June 2009 during a shootout with two suspects.
