Two people were killed Monday morning in a seven-car accident involving a tractor-trailer and a dump truck on Route 78.
State police say a dump truck traveling in the westbound express lane crossed into the eastbound lane, causing a chain reaction crash near exit 49a. They say the two people killed were in passenger vehicles.
The driver of the dump truck was taken to University Hospital in Newark, according to state police, but the extent of his injuries is unknown.
