Liberty Hall in Union is celebrating Women's History Month with guided tours and giving guests a behind-the-scenes look at the women who lived and labored at the historic home.
In its over 250-year history, Liberty Hall has been home to dozens of women who have played an important role in the state and country's history.
Hannah Gaston, an education coordinator at the museum, says "We had philanthropists that lived here, ladies that were civil war nurses, ladies that worked in politics in the 1870s when we weren't even allowed to vote yet."
The museum is offering tours on March 16 and 17 that focus on the ladies of Liberty Hall. During the tour, visitors will get an inside look at the historic building built in 1772 and a tour guide showing the 25 different period rooms, ranging from Colonial Era kitchens to Victorian era dining rooms, and even some bathrooms from the 1940s.
