A brand new Days Inn being built in Castle Hill has caused distress for neighboring residents.
Residents say they are angry because they were never notified about the new development on Bruckner Boulevard until they saw construction begin about a month ago. They say they fear the new hotel could bring crime, a bad crowd and negative activity to the area.
The developer of the Days Inn, Manny Chadah, says that the project is very well done and will bring a good crowd. He says Castle Hill is his neighborhood as well and he wouldn't want to mess it up.
The Department of Buildings tells News 12 that the developer is not violating any zoning codes, but some residents have formed the Castle Hill Neighborhood Betterment Association to try and get something done. They say they are still working with local leaders to find a solution.
