Two unions on either side of the Atlantic City smoking ban debate are butting heads as members of the group Casino Employees Against Smoking Effects (CEASE) fired back after Local 54 filed a motion to dismiss a lawsuit about the ban.

UNITE HERE Local 54 says it does not want a total ban on smoking inside casinos. The union says it fears a total ban would hurt business and cost jobs.

CEASE has been very vocal about a total ban.

“…Local 54 leadership is dramatically out of touch with most of its members, who agree with us that it's time to protect our lives by ending indoor smoking. No other worker is as directly affected as us, the table games dealers,” the union wrote.
