Democratic Lt. Gov. Sheila Oliver and Republican Diane Allen clashed over COVID-19 vaccination requirements and a handful of other issues, but they both agreed they’d welcome President Joe Biden to the campaign trail.
Allen criticized the president’s handling of the withdrawal from Afghanistan and pointed out how polls have shown his job approvals wavering, while Oliver backed his legislative proposals aimed at helping Americans and said she would welcome him to the state to campaign.
Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy and Republican Jack Ciattarelli will have their second debate on Oct. 12.
Election Day is Nov. 2.
