A Voorhees man who authorities say was speeding has been charged in a crash that killed a young mother.
Atlantic County prosecutors say Stephen Sirch, 30, is facing vehicular homicide charges for the April 3 crash in Hamilton that killed 29-year-old Karina Castillo, from Clementon.
Prosecutors say Sirch was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox and speeding on Black Horse Pike in Hamilton, just west of High Bank Road, when he hit Castillo, who was driving a 2011 Honda Civic. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Castillo leaves behind her baby and spouse. Her family has put up a GoFundMe.
Sirch sustained injuries not considered life-threatening in the crash. He was charged with second-degree vehicular homicide and is being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing.
