A Union County man is being charged in connection to a burglary after an accidental call to 911.
Police say the Somerset County 911 call center received a call that appeared to be in error. The operator heard voices discussing a burglary, but was unsure of the caller's location.
Later that evening, Branchburg police responded to a burglary on Lamington Road. The homeowner reported almost $1,500 in jewelry had been stolen.
Investigators were able to make a connection between the accidental call and the burglary.
Scott Esser, of Elizabeth, was arrested and charged.
