North Brunswick resident and music producer John Forte's 14-year drug sentence was commuted by President George W. Bush Monday.
Forte, a Grammy-winning rapper and producer, served seven years of his sentence. He was arrested after prosecutors recorded him arranging to pick up a $1.4 million shipment of liquid cocaine.
Forte was convicted of possession of 31 pounds of the drug with intent to distribute.
He could be free by Christmas with Bush's action.
