Bus fire on New Jersey Turnpike Eastern Spur in Secaucus slows morning commute

It happened just south of Interchange 15X near the Secaucus Train Station around 6:19 a.m.

A bus fire shut down all northbound lanes on the New Jersey Turnpike’s Eastern Spur in Secaucus early this morning.
At approximately 6:12 a.m., a bus operating on the 113 line—departing Plainfield at 5:06 a.m. and scheduled to arrive at the Port Authority Bus Terminal at 6:13 a.m.—experienced a tire blowout near exit 15X, resulting in a fire.
The bus was safely evacuated. No injuries were reported to the 49 customers or the operator.
The customers were accommodated by a following bus.
PATH and NJ TRANSIT rail are cross-honoring tickets due to resulting traffic delays on the Turnpike.
The fire was extinguished by the local fire department.
