Police: Burglar found in crawl space at Ocean Township diner

Police say Leamon Washington was involved in several other commercial burglaries that occurred within Ocean Township and surrounding towns.

A burglar was caught in the crawl space of a diner in Ocean Township last week and now faces multiple charges, according to police.
Police say they received a report of glass being broken at Blue Swan Diner on April 16 at 2:30 a.m. They say while looking for the suspect, they found Leamon Washington hiding in the crawl space at the diner.
When Washington exited the crawl space, police said they arrested him.
According to authorities, Washington was also involved in several other commercial burglaries that occurred in recent weeks within Ocean Township and surrounding towns.
Washington was charged with several counts of burglary, possession of burglar tools, theft and criminal mischief. He was taken to Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending an initial court appearance.
