Authorities say a 1,200-pound bull that was being loaded onto a truck injured a man at the Hackettstown Livestock Auction Market on Tuesday.
Hackettstown police and rescue squad members responded to the market on West Stiger Street at 7:50 p.m. Tuesday for reports of an unconscious man with a head injury.
Officers found the 61-year-old Pennsylvania man with a laceration to his forehead. Police said the man was trying to load the bull onto a truck when the animal became "spooked" and knocked the man into a wood post.
The man was taken to Hackettstown Medical Center and later airlifted to Morristown Medical Center. He was discharged from the hospital on Wednesday morning.
