JoMart Chocolates, Brooklyn’s oldest chocolate factory, has been crafting sweets by hand since 1946.
Now run by third-generation chocolatier Michael Rogak, the family business blends tradition with a modern twist.
Rogak began working alongside his father at just 9 years old, and today he’s helping carry on the legacy started by his grandfather.
“I pride myself that we make the best product we can make fresh all the time, period,” said Rogak.
Some recipes, like the jelly used in their peanut butter jelly bar, haven’t changed for nearly 100 years.
“This is the beauty of this kind of a business,” he said. “You basically help people celebrate the best parts of their life every single day.”
JoMart’s handcrafted chocolates have been a local favorite for generations — a sweet tradition in the heart of Brooklyn.
