Brooklyn man killed, two others injured in New Jersey crash

Police identified the victim as 21-year-old Nazar Bilous.

New Jersey state police say a Brooklyn man was killed and two others were injured in crash the northern part of the state.

Police identified the victim as 21-year-old Nazar Bilous. They say Bilous was driving an Audi SUV that crashed in Wantage Township on New Year's Day. Another Brooklyn man, identified as 21-year-old Volodymyr-Zakhar Sheremeta, is fighting for his life at the hospital, according to officials.

Authorities say Bilous was navigating a curve on Route 23 at milepost 49.2 when the vehicle ran off the road and struck a large rock.

The Audi re-entered the road and ran off it a second time, striking a large tree stump and a tree, killing Bilous, critically injuring Sheremeta and minorly injuring another passenger.

EMS took Sheremeta and the other passenger to the hospital.
